Do you like the rain? On a quiet rainy day spent indoors, I slowly crafted three different hydrangeas.+ This is a long-form video, so I’ve included timestamps below. Feel free to jump to any part you’d like to see.+ ----- *＊DIY Transparent Hydrangeas from Upcycled Boxes＊* I wanted to capture the look of hydrangeas painted in watercolors. By mixing water glue with acrylic paint, I feel I was able to recreate that soft, bleeding color effect... As always, I upcycled a transparent empty box for this project. Since plastic tends to repel water glue, I used nail polish as a base coat. The gentle clicking of pins and plastic, and the way the colors blend together— it’s a truly healing time.+ ----- *＊Bead Hydrangea Earrings＊* My mother can no longer enjoy her hobby of bead crafting due to paralysis in her right hand... I’ve inherited her beads and decided to upcycle them. Most were likely bought at 100-yen shops, but since I'm not sure if they are still available, I am making each piece with great care. The sound of beads bouncing on glass, the sound of water and beads, and the soft colors as they come together— it’s a calming time.+ The earrings are available on BASE 💎 (Limited quantities available) https://nekonohana.official.ec/ ----- *＊Miniature Hydrangea Soda with Water Glue＊* I tried making a miniature soda using water glue to keep it as simple as possible.+ The ice and lemons are made from cut glue sticks, with the lemons tinted using nail polish. Only the white pith of the lemon is made from resin. I use resin sparingly because it requires careful handling and can be expensive—I save it for times when nothing else will do or when I want a piece to last a long time. Interestingly, the soda I made with water glue evaporated after a few days, disappearing just like real soda bubbles.+\* ----- *＊Hydrangea-Colored Soda＊* The blue of butterfly pea tea. The fizzy sound of carbonation. The moment the blue turns to purple with a squeeze of lemon. The sounds... colors... and flavors...
