Eierhandel bei Amshoff aha frisch-Ei: Tradition und revolutionäre MOBA-Technik im Einklang

In Ahaus, in the heart of the western Münsterland region, is the headquarters of Amshoff aha frisch-Ei – a family business with over 114 years of experience in the egg trade. The company has operated at its current location since 2005 and is one of the region's largest egg distributors. In the production area, sorting is fully automated using a modern system from the Dutch manufacturer MOBA, which has been in operation since 2016. Approximately one million eggs are processed here daily. Upon arrival at the receiving area, the pallets are depalletized, the eggs are inspected, weighed, and sorted according to quality grades. A technological highlight is the new "Vision Shell Inspector" camera technology from MOBA, implemented since the beginning of 2025. Using artificial intelligence and near-infrared light, cracks in the shell are detected without contact. Also new is an AI-based weighing function that calculates the weight of the eggs from image data – precisely, without wear and tear, and without maintenance. This innovation will eventually replace existing mechanical weighing systems, thereby reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
