DW5XL - Zhao Yun 赵云 - Wipeout at Wuzhang Plains (Chaos)

Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends Free Mode: Battle of Wuzhang Plains (Shu) Since my last Zhao Yun video, I read up a bit on his move set from Dw5chaosmodeguide's GameFaqs guide. ‪@KennyNugget‬ also provided some nuggets of wisdom in his move set as well. With some improved knowledge of his capabilities, I set off into this battle with this newly acquired information. The main thing I've incorporated into my Zhao Yun's playstyle is his normal attack string. His normal attack string is fast and protective, which allows him to get further into the string in small crowds. When I first encounter an enemy officer, I resort to using C4s to both scatter crowds and attempt to freeze the enemy officer. If Zhao Yun manages to freeze, then Musou should take care of the rest. If he fails to freeze, I'll use Zhao Yun's normal attack string and go into the evolution attacks, then combo into a full length Musou attack. This typically nets the kill and wastes less time than trying to fish for another Ice proc with C4. Of course, I'll only go for this option if the crowds aren't extremely dense. His normal attack string is good, but it's still not wise to mash the square button in the middle of large crowds. With this method, I find his offense against generics to be pretty consistent now. I'm also trying to use his C1 more as a getaway and approach tool like how ‪@KennyNugget‬ does. I still forget to use it occasionally, but it's nice that it's there. I would really recommend saving Musou Rage tokens for playable enemy officers. Otherwise, his normal attack string can be repeated to the fifth strike over and over for his dueling game. C4 should be used to isolate enemy officers first if you choose to duel with this method. I find his C5 is be an okay option for dueling. From my playtesting, it usually hits blocking officers, but there is a bit of spacing involved. Overall, I still find Zhao Yun to be very good. He benefits a lot from Musou Rage since he crowd clears very well. It's just a shame that his Musou is weaker than other juggling Musous. For my freezers in high tier, it'll probably be ranked in the following order: Xingcai, Zhao Yun, Wei Yan. I still find Xingcai to be the most consistent of these three characters, but both Zhao Yun and Wei Yan can supplement their offenses with Musou Rage thanks to their fourth weapons.
