Winchester Cathedral | Exploring The Longest Medieval Cathedral In The World!
Welcome to Walking The Wyrd! In this walk, I take a look at the stunning Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire in the UK. The current cathedral was commissioned by William The Conqueror in 1079 but there has been a Christian Minster on the same site since the 7th century. The cathedral has been dubbed the longest medieval cathedral in the world at a whopping 170 metres (about 558 feet) long. The cathedral holds a wealth of fascinating artefacts and is the burial place of some notable people including British author, Jane Austen. I hope you enjoy the tour!
