Höllental: Spektakulärste Schlucht Deutschlands?

The Höllental Gorge near Grainau is an impressive natural wonder in the Bavarian Mountains. We'll take you on a varied hike through the wild, rocky gorge all the way up to the idyllic Höllentalangerhütte mountain hut at the foot of the Zugspitze. To avoid the busy trails at the beginning, we chose the Sagensteig (Legend Trail) for the ascent. This path runs off the main route through the mountain forest and offers a peaceful, nature-filled start. We then traverse the gorge itself: The massive, wet rock walls and the powerful waterfalls make this section a truly memorable experience. Beyond the gorge, the valley opens up dramatically, and the trail leads us onward to the Höllentalangerhütte – a picturesque and scenic setting for a well-deserved break.
