How to Replace a Ford Escape 2.0L Ecoboost Rear Main Seal
In this video, we replace the rear main seal in a 2014 Ford Escape with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine. This car had been leaking oil for months. We had already checked the oil pan and front cover and found no leaks, so the only place left was the rear main seal. We decided that dropping the engine out the bottom of the car would be easier than trying to pull it out the front, so most of the time that we spent on this was spent disconnecting everything from the engine. Once we got the engine and transmission separated, we found that this whole problem was caused by a botched repair job.
