►The windshield washer pump BMW used in the F8X series cars has a filter notorious for clogging. While cleaning the filter could fix the issue, the washer pumps can easily burn out when attempting to pull fluid through a clog. As such, windshield washer pump replacements are common among this generation of M cars. Replacing the washer pump is a fairly involved task. It's located in the passenger's fender and requires removing the fender liner, so fastener spares are highly encouraged, as the stock hardware is likely to break. However, not many tools are needed.
