Winnats Pass - A Drone Flight Through The Peak District

Winnats Pass is one of the most dramatic and recognisable landscapes in England. Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park near Castleton, this spectacular limestone gorge was formed over millions of years and today attracts walkers, cyclists, photographers and visitors from around the world. In this drone flight, we take to the skies above the winding road that cuts its way through the towering cliffs and rolling hills of the Derbyshire countryside. From above, the true scale and beauty of Winnats Pass can be appreciated, revealing a landscape shaped by nature and steeped in history. The name "Winnats" is believed to derive from "Wind Gates", a fitting description for this exposed and often windswept route through the hills. The area is also closely linked to the region's rich mining heritage, with evidence of lead mining still visible across the surrounding landscape.
