There is a great need today for men full of faith, hope, and charity who are capable of placing themselves at the service of God and their brothers and sisters in true prophetic service. To intercede, to stand before God on behalf of others, it is first and foremost necessary to be a "Friend of God," as the prophets were and as the great Saints of the Church have been.
