It wasn't about being in charge. It wasn't about being right. It was about surrender, the slow, daily, unglamorous work of putting someone else's needs above your own. That's the Man I'm Trying to Be came out of that reckoning. It's a song for every husband, every father, every man who is still in the middle of becoming, still learning to listen, still learning to hold on, still learning to let go.
