Gillian Anderson has had a career full of impressive roles - from the beloved Agent Scully in The X Files, to the memorable Stella Gibson in The Fall, a delightfully unhinged Miss Havisham in Great Expectations and the free-spirited Jean Milburn in Netflix's Sex Education. But her latest role is arguably her most compelling. The actress plays Margaret Thatcher in season four of The Crown, joining Olivia Colman as the Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, and Emma Corrin as Princess Diana. "On the one hand it's easier almost to play a real character," Anderson tells us. "There's often so much documentation and so it makes it easier to do research or hone in on things like clothes and voice, which can all help in building a character. But then there's also the added pressure of people who have very strong opinions of the person that you're playing."
