I can’t believe it’s been a year, this game was one of the most wonderful surprises of 2025 and it had a huge impact on my life - I’ve played it through twice from scratch and can’t wait to go back for a third time on NG+! This collab has been in the works for a WHILE now, but hopefully worth the wait! I considered doing the original vocal version of Alicia when I first heard it, but knew I couldn’t pull it off without bringing in IsrafelCello for that amazing cello solo in the middle - We have worked together on countless projects now and he always takes collabs to the next level. I have wanted to bring Julia in for something on my channel, also for forever, but it’s so rare that an opportunity to work with a vocalist presents itself….so I was thrilled for the chance to work with her on this, especially since I knew she would absolutely knock it out of the park (and we also had many fun conversations about the game while playing through it ourselves haha!) Arranging this for Piano Quintet from the original ensemble was more challenging than it would seem (really the orchestration was already so masterfully efficient as is!), but I enjoyed reworking it for a smaller setting here. I only wish we could have performed it live in the room together!
