An Bhfaca Tú Mo Shéamuisín (My little darling, my little boy (James))

Hi Everybody, This is a very beautiful little song about a mother who goes out looking for her little boy, James, on his first day of school. It's a traditional, very classic piece of Irish folkore, and is taught to children when they are very little. James' mother sends him off to school with a bag lunch and no shoes, as the family is very poor. Please don't misconstrue the lack of shoes meaning that the mother has no love for her child. It's quite the opposite, as many children went barefoot in Ireland when they were young, especially during the Summer months. The mother has great affection for the child, and proves it by searching for James, fearing he might be lost. A full translation of the Irish lyrics follows this presentation.
