Painting Cornwall's The Smugglers Cott in pen and loose watercolour washes.

Old buildings with bags of character often make the best subjects for pen and wash, as they often have lots of textures, sloping walls, and old moss-covered tiles, among other peculiarities. The picture painted as a moderately loose pen and wash in today's video is of the Smugglers Cott restaurant in Looe, Cornwall, an historic Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1420 and featuring 600-year-old architecture, including a former smuggler's tunnel discovered in 1932.
