The Cyclone Missed Us… But This Is What We Learned_VLOG 222
Last week, as Cyclone Vaianu approached, we went back to the village to spend time with Nai, Eliki and Seva’s great grandmother. She shared stories from back in the day, how they used to read the signs of a coming cyclone and prepare without all the things we have today. Life was harder, but they knew what to do. The boys got a hands-on lesson too, learning how to prepare the farm by cutting the cassava plants short so the strong winds wouldn’t damage the crops. We ended the day the best way we know how, playing with the village kids and a swim by the river. Lucky for us, the cyclone passed and all we felt were strong winds.
