Erneuerbaren-Ausbau-Beschleunigungsgesetz (11.06.2026)

The National Council is debating the Renewable Energy Expansion Acceleration Act (EABG). It was already discussed by the Economic Affairs Committee in April 2026. The aim of the law is to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy. To this end, procedures for the construction and operation of energy facilities are to be simplified and expedited. Furthermore, sufficient land is to be designated for power lines and energy facilities. Each federal state is to achieve specific targets for electricity generation from renewable energy sources. A two-thirds majority is required for a decision.
