Montgomery Clift Tribute/I Confess
Montgomery Clift, my favorite actor, starring in Alfred Hitchcock's "I Confess", my favorite movie, portrays a priest caught in a terrifying dilemma. He has heard a murderer's confession, and when the finger of suspicion is pointed at him, he is unable to reveal the secrets which could save him as long as he is a priest. Will he deny his faith to save his life? You will have to watch the movie to find out. But in these short clips, accompanied by The Twenty-third Psalm, his torment is expressed eloquently as he, a fugitive, walks the streets of Quebec (a city chosen not only for its charm and Old World flavor but because it was the only city in North America where priests habitually wore cassocks. I hope you will find these excerpts as exciting as I did. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED
