Demarcation changes complicate registration

As South Africans register to vote ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections, some communities say demarcation changes have complicated the process. In parts of Johannesburg, ward boundaries have shifted, leaving some residents uncertain about where they fall and which councillor is responsible for their area. Community leaders say the changes have not only affected voter registration logistics, but have also impacted service delivery.
