A historic walk led me to one of Santo Domingo's "baddest" hoods
My walk starts as a tour of Santo Domingo's historic "Zona Colonial", the oldest part of the oldest city not just in the Dominican Republic but in all of the Americas dating back to 1496. However, 1/3rd of the way into this historic walking tour, we take an unexpected left turn and instead visit one of the nearby "Bad Barrios". Here we walk the streets, visit the shops, and talk with the local people accompanied by the local and bilingual "King Solomon"
