Count Basie - How Long, How Long Blues
@charlesperforms is on a mission to preserve early jazz history through digitization, and I’ve joined the effort to help map out some of these classic piano performances. My contribution continues with Count Basie's recording of the tune ”How Long, How Long Blues”, recorded in 1938 on his album 'Count Basie At The Piano'. By making the sheet music available, I’m hoping to turn these foundational jazz recordings into accessible study materials for musicians of all levels. I used a piano isolated track that Charles Chen extracted with his very own stem splitter, in conjunction with the original recording, to help me be as accurate as possible. Personnel: Count Basie (piano) Freddie Green (guitar) Walter Page (bass) "Papa" Jo Jones (drums) The notes that you see in parentheses ”( )” are either notes I'm not sure were played or some personal additions. The notes you see with 'x' are ghost notes.
