Trump and Iranian leaders trade threats as the interim deal falls apart
U.S. and Iranian leaders traded further threats on Saturday as the interim deal to end the war buckles under repeated crossfire in the Middle East. President Donald Trump threatened further missile attacks against Iran after it did not submit to U.S. demands to declare the Strait of Hormuz open. Iran vowed to seek further revenge as well. Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a message about his father and late Iranian leader Ali Khamenei's funeral that Iranians would avenge his death. The traded threats come as tensions simmer in the Middle East. Recent U.S. airstrikes targeted Iran after attacks on ships in the strait. Negotiations continue, but Trump warns of military action if talks fail.
