First was that feature on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle.” Then he dropped his ‘Take Time’ and ‘When It’s All Said and Done’ EPs, collectively clocking a 100 million streams. That was enough to earn him a Vevo DSCVR Artists To Watch 2021 invite. Next, “Heartbreak Anniversary” topped the R&B charts. If you didn’t know him by then, his feature on Biebs' “Peaches” did the trick - to the tune of more than a billion streams. Now the 27-year-old is our latest LIFT artist. Last month we linked up with the baritone singer just a few LA freeway exits north of his Long Beach hometown. Together we shot a couple incredible performances of tracks from his ‘Give or Take’ album. Talking to us for Footnotes, he says "For Tonight" is about "having a taboo connection to something or someone."
