Ron MacAnnan's Pursuit
Ron MacAnnan's Pursuit is a portrait of a Sausalito waterfront legend and the 82-foot M-class sloop he loved. More films and the stories behind them: https://lifeonthewater.us Our new film, "Sailing Set Her Free — The Jocelyn Nash Story," premieres October 22, 2026 at the Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael, California. Ron MacAnnan was the proud owner of Pursuit, an M-class 82-foot sloop. Both are legendary in Sausalito, California. Ron had a hand in making history on the Sausalito waterfront, and he tells his story with a unique candor that is truly unforgettable. This was the first film in the Life on the Water series — made with no budget, no sponsors, and no donations, filmed aboard Pursuit whenever Ron would have us. Life on the Water is an independent documentary series of portraits of people whose lives have been shaped by the sea.
