This album of MTM gonna be nuts. It is a highly anticaption of MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION.. Grecian was a song created during the Minutes To Midnight sessions in 2006. We learned of the song's existence on the LPU 6 physical newsletter (the band used to send them out yearly) where Rob mentioned the song by name, saying that the band was going to perform it at Summer Sonic 2006, however it was abandoned for a new song that sprung up during rehearsals for the tour, which became QWERTY. The direct quote from Rob is "We wanted to play a new song in Japan that was different from what we have done in the past that had a lot of energy live. We had a very specific idea of the kind of song we wanted to play but we didn't have that type of song yet. Being able to rehearse and record at the same time enabled us to create the song Qwerty, which is the song that we ended up playing. After trying to mold a song we had already written into the right one for the show (which didn't work) we decided to write a brand new song 3 days before leaving. An hour before one of the last rehearsals we stopped working on a song named Grecian and decided to start a new song based on an idea that Phoenix had brought in. The song Qwerty came together in an hour and then it was rearranged over the next three days in the rehearsal room and the studio. The lyrics were actually finished on the flight to Japan''. In 2022, Rob McDermott, the band's old manager, said that the song didn't exist because he ''never heard of it'' and he ''would have heard about it''. This is possibly one of the stupidest things said by someone who worked with the band IMO, since the band wrote over 150 song ideas or Minutes To Midnight and just because he didn't remember it exactly, or even heard of it or whatever, doesn't mean that it didn't exist. LOL. Phoenix also famously played the song on his home studio computer on the Making Of Minutes To Midnight DVD, which is what the audio from this video is taken from. The title Grecian appeared right there on the screen and Phoenix also says audibly by name. So not sure how Rob McDermott said it ''doesn't exist''. This song has been a holy grail among the hardcore fans since it was first mentioned on that LPU 6 Newsletter in late 2006. It's basically the ''Pictureboard'' or ''Lost'' of Minutes To Midnight.
