Shovelhead Engine - Charging System Troubleshoot and Repair

While using my computer to check the mixture of the carbs I started to encounter issues on the way home. It seemed the engine would only stay running if the RPM's remained high. Once home testing could begin. After letting the battery charge, I was surprised to see that the tester showed the system to be in good working order. However as we will come to find that over a short amount of time things started to change quickly. While I have a good feeling as to whats wrong let see how had it is and how quickly it gets there.
