Haytime at Owlers Farm, Hebden Bridge - 1977
HAYTIME: 1977, at Owlers Farm, Shackleton Hill, Hebden Bridge. The grass is going to seed, time to cut it. The farmer, Ernest Shaw mows the grass. The sun dries the cut grass and turns it into hay. Ernest uses the Wuffler to fluff up the hay and let air into the rows, to speed up drying. The baler comes out of the shed. Ernest made small rectangular bales. The bales are put onto a trailer and taken to the barns. Some are raised up using the elevator and if the entrance is low enough the bales are just manhandled in through the opening. We see Ernest putting bales through the opening with some help. I made this cine film in the summer of 1977. Music by Chris Zabriskie from You Tube Audio Library. Please feel free to share this.
