[ARTIST PROFILE] A visit to the studio of visual artist Massinissa Selmani, one of the four artists nominated for the 2023 Marcel Duchamp Prize ✏️ Through drawing, Massinissa Selmani conducts a radical formal exploration fueled by current events, architecture, and dreamlike imagery. On the vast expanse of white paper or a white wall, the artist unfolds his minimalist compositions. He extracts images or motifs from newspaper clippings. The drawings thus act as commentaries, graphic strategies aimed at ridiculing situations or, conversely, at relativizing them with humor.
