Now at 71, I've decided to pursue acting. I recently applied for an audition, and although I didn't get the first one, I've applied again. This is a record of my small challenge as a woman living in the forest and making a living through dyeing. * * Hello. This is Grandma Uriuri. "Why am I aiming to become an actress at 71?" The trigger was a single word from my uncle, who was a projectionist at a movie theater, when I was a child: "Become an actress." I was only 4 or 5 years old at the time, and I didn't fully understand what he meant, but for some reason, the image of that projection room remains vividly in my memory. With that memory in my heart, at 71, I've finally taken the first step. It's simply applying for auditions. If I fail, I'll apply again. I can't do anything flashy. I live in the forest, and my pension and YouTube income are meager, There are limits to what I can do. Even so, I intend to move forward one step at a time, in line with my own capabilities. My daily life is very simple. I wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, soak up the sun, do my main job of dyeing and making clothes, and create videos. In between all of that, I'm slowly working towards becoming an actress. I see 71 years old not just as a number, but as the weight of my life experiences. I do squats to prevent myself from shrinking any further, I shave bonito flakes to make miso soup, I value taking good care of my body and building a solid foundation for my life. On top of that foundation, I'm gently placing my challenge to become an actress.
