Quest for Glory 1 VGA Speedrun (no point glitch) in 3:09

Quest for Glory (originally Hero's Quest) is one of my easily favourite game series (maybe even the favourite). It combines the Sierra's classic adventure game with RPG elements, and does so with a charm. This game is a real treat, I really recommend you to try it out, as well the rest of the series (personally I like the 3rd part very much, but also the 4th one, and the rest too : ) Since I reckoned speedrunning the first part (which I know the best) should be a breeze, I decided to record a run of mine. Of course I was wrong and it wasn't as easy as I thought, nevertheless I managed to pull off a decent time, which I'll try to cut some in the near future. Hey, I even had some fun! (until I started grinding : P). Finding some new tricks would be swell, tho it's not impossible to go below 3 minutes without anything new, but it would be way easier ; ) Timing starts at 0:55 (start of character control - when Sheriff's last dialogue disappears). Thief is used, my all-time favourite : ) Some small new tricks are used here and there compared to previous runs, feel free to ask about anything. The most obvious is almost totally skipping the Brigands' leader confrontation by quickly going to character's sheet screen, which enables us to exit the scene without disturbing anyone : ) There are also a few small route shortcuts through the forest and then some.
