To easily achieve a harmonica bend using the candle technique, start by placing the harmonica close to your mouth, making sure the suction holes are in the center of your lips. Light a candle and place it in front of you, about 15-20 centimeters from your mouth. Begin playing a sustained note on the harmonica, maintaining a constant flow of air. Now, pay attention to the candle flame and vary the pressure and shape of your mouth until you achieve a full sound. Lower the candle and, without moving your head, follow its movement with the airflow; you'll almost immediately feel the pitch of the note drop.
