How Hebert Phikela Founded the Budula Festival Around the GLTFCAs
Nearly 15 years ago, Hebert Hasani Phikela founded what is now known as the Budula Festival, (formerly Great Limpopo Cultural Trade Fair) overcoming numerous challenges, including limited funding, to build one of the region's notable cultural events. Today, the festival brings together communities within and adjacent to the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTCA) and Gonarezhou National Park to celebrate culture, heritage, and unity. Phikela shares the journey behind the festival's growth.
