The West Baden was also part of a movie "How Cold The River". Most of the movie was filmed inside the hotel and we got a view at it's movie room, a gothic style room with a balcony that the main character stays in. We take the train to French Lick Springs Hotel to bowl and use the kids center, then we take a shuttle to one of their 3 golf courses to have dinner in the club house. The resort acquired at action an antique bar from the Chicago stockyards. This bar use to be a bar Al Capone and his men liked to drink at. If you look closely you can find an arrow carved into the bar. Al Capone did this with a knife to warn other patrons at the bar to stay on their side of the arrow and to mind their own business. We were also lucky enough to have Easter Brunch at The West Baden Springs Hotel. Whichever holiday is around the corner, there's always a reason to celebrate at French Lick Resort. From Christmas to the Fourth of July, and even Spring Break or Fall Break, we'll make it special. Plan a getaway with us and make some holiday memories. We put on our Sunday best. The French Lick Resorts did have a Sunday mass that we did not attended. We did take Easter pictures in the formal Gardens and then sit down to a huge all you can eat spread in the grand atrium.
