The Kells Set Dancers perform on ‘The Mountain Lark’. The Kells Set Dancers, the well known dancing group from County Meath dance a set for ‘The Mountain Lark’ viewers to the music of The Johnny Higgins Céilí Band from Oldcastle. These Oireachtas champions have also danced for audiences in Britain, the United States and Canada as part of a Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann tour. ‘The Mountain Lark’ is a series featuring traditional music and song filmed at the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann headquarters in Monkstown, County Dublin. The series aims to showcase the best of traditional Irish music, song and dance from around the country. First broadcast on 29 April 1985 it ran for four series. This episode of ‘The Mountain Lark’ was broadcast on 25 February 1986. The presenter is Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich.
