Take a trip down the Royal Gorge funicular incline railway 2012

Take a ride on one of the few funicular railways in the United States. This one is located at the Royal Gorge bridge park near Canon City, Colorado. The incline was built in 1931 and has a gauge of 3 feet. The cars are pulled up or lowered down using thick cables. As you can see in the video, space is very tight so difficult to get good video. Unfortunately this tram was damaged in a fire in 2013 and has not been operational since. The Royal Gorge bridge is one of the highest bridges in the world at 955 feet. Damage was repaired from the fire to the bridge and it is currently open to the public. Filmed in August, 2012.
