The Official Reopening of SALCC's Southern Campus

With the re-opening of the refurbished and extended Southern Campus of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in Vieux-Fort, tertiary-level students in the south of the island now have access to the same high-quality learning experience available anywhere in the world. The facility is equipped with smart classrooms, upgraded learning tools, an entirely new wing and will also pioneer the HyFlex course delivery model, which will help students with multi-faceted lives gain greater control over their academic schedules. Minister in the Ministry of Education of Education, Hon. Danny Butcher, reflected on the period when students of his generation were required to travel to the campus in Castries for courses not offered in the south and celebrated the fact that this would no longer be the case. He also expressed the belief that the warm, enriching environment created by the staff at the southern campus would not only produce highly trained citizens, but would strengthen character as well.
