In this experiment, I’m putting two iconic Dutch urban layouts to the test inside Cities: Skylines 2 to see which one actually creates a better neighbourhood. On one side, we have the Amsterdam School style: dense, walkable, mixed-use blocks designed over a century ago to prioritize community and public transit. On the other, the VINEX suburb: the late-90s answer to modern living, characterized by more space, water-side views, and a different approach to density. Whether you're a fan of traditional European urbanism or modern Dutch architecture, this head-to-head test reveals the strengths and weaknesses of both.
