Vanlife - HIDDEN CAVE VILLAGE - We had no idea!

On our motorhome journey back from Bilbao to the Costa Blanca, we made a stop that a couple we met recently recommended us to visit— the fascinating village of Arguedas, Navarra with it´s incredible CAVE HOUSES! What a recommendation it turned out to be! Perched on the edge of the dramatic landscapes of Bardenas Reales Natural Park, the small town of Arguedas hides a remarkable piece of history carved straight into the hillside — the Cuevas de Arguedas. In this video we take you for a quick look around these unique cave dwellings, once used as homes by local residents. Built by carving directly into the soft rock, these caves provided natural insulation from the extreme temperatures of this desert-like region of northern Spain. During our visit we: Explore the historic cave houses of Arguedas Learn about how people once lived inside these caves Show you the landscape surrounding the caves Share why this unexpected stop became one of the most interesting places we visited on our road trip If you're travelling Spain by motorhome, campervan, or road trip, this is a brilliant place to stop — especially if you're planning to explore the spectacular Bardenas Reales, one of Spain’s most unique natural landscapes. Sometimes the best travel discoveries come from recommendations from you guys, and this was definitely one of them! 🚐 Our Motorhome Adventures We’re a couple travelling through Spain and Europe in our motorhome with our two small dogs, sharing road trips, hidden gems, and travel inspiration along the way.
