Webinar: Researching Historic Properties

Whether you’re picking up on someone else’s research or starting from scratch, initiating research of a historic property might be a daunting task. By breaking the approach down into steps you can apply across the board, research of even the most ill-documented properties becomes accessible, productive, and engaging. Starting with determining property lines, accessing and creating deed chains, documenting property value and building to the writing of property narratives and biographies, this session aims to cover the whole process of historic property research through a case study of Duffields Depot, an under-researched and poorly documented property in Jefferson County, West Virginia.
