Sonja Schmid
Sonja Schmid « ... then came a very strong desire to paint all these impressions ... » The Swiss painter Sonja Schmid was born in Zurich in 1955. Today, she lives as a freelance artist at Wil (Saint-Gall), where she creates abstract works inspired by her many accommodations in Italy, Spain, Africa, Russia or Sri Lanka. From image to abstraction At first, Sonja Schmid described in a metaphorical way she needed to understand the structure and color of nature. But after a few years their motives were completely lost in the abstraction. She deals with various themes in her work, but applies them very skillfully and even keeps them on themselves. Abstract nature Sonja Schmid creates abstract works on canvas, paper or plexiglass. She uses a conceptual approach to design and determine form, size and color, and decides to work in a series or single work. Nature often uses her as a model of photographs, whether it be stones, the color, shape or structure of trees, or the depth and depth of the landscape. She converted the form and abstracted it into unrecognizable. Exhibition Sonja Schmid exhibited her work in numerous individual and group exhibitions, including St. Gallen, Zurich, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Ferrara, Barcelona or Moskow.
