Nevada ranks third for scams as fake lease schemes target renters seeking savings

Nevadans searching for an affordable place to live may be running into more than high prices — they may be facing scams. A Better Business Bureau (BBB) map shows Nevada ranks third in the nation when it comes to scams as a whole. The warning comes as a nationwide poll from the University of Florida shows more than 70% of respondents said housing affordability has worsened in their community, pushing more people to look for cheaper rental options that can sometimes turn out to be fraudulent.
