In this video, we show a real-life diagnostic and repair case involving a 2012 Dodge Durango with a 3.6L engine that was experiencing multiple engine and transmission malfunctions. The customer had seen one of our previous videos in which we addressed a similar communication issue, caused by a false contact in the power steering pump connector. This led him to suspect that the fault could also be related to the power steering pump. Upon receiving the vehicle, we began the diagnostic process by verifying the operation of the electronically assisted power steering pump. We used a scanner to view live data and then confirmed the findings with an oscilloscope. We discovered that connecting the power steering pump connector generated interference or "noise" on the network, causing a loss of communication between the vehicle's modules. When we disconnected the pump, communication returned to normal, allowing us to confirm that the problem lay with the power steering pump.
