Inside The Azores: 4x4 Tour, Lava Pools & Food Fails #travelvlog

This is the second half of our whirlwind 72-hour trip to the Azores, and honestly — it might be the wildest part. In this video, we explore the west coast of São Miguel on a private 4x4 tour, driving along the rim of a dormant volcano, chasing fog-free views of Sete Cidades, and swimming in the dramatic lava pools of Mosteiros as Atlantic waves crash just feet away. From rugged coastlines to hidden viewpoints, this side of the island feels raw, remote, and completely different from the east. We also dive into Azorean culture along the way — from cow-filled countryside (did you know there’s a 1:1 cow-to-human ratio here?) to historic aqueducts, brass band music in a crater village, and of course… local food and drinks. Some were incredible, and others? Total food fails. But that’s all part of the adventure. To wrap up our trip, we spend our final evening in Ponta Delgada, wandering the streets, sipping cocktails, trying Azorean specialties, and ending on a surprisingly sweet note with fresh pineapple piña coladas. 👉 Missed Part 1?
