The festivities on the shores of Lake Tota were in full swing… and without intending to, we found ourselves in the middle of a celebration we never imagined. Traveling to Lake Tota might seem like a relaxing trip: Andean landscapes, endless onion fields, and a stunning rural road. But Aquitania showed us another side of Lake Tota: intense parties, music, foam, and an energy that completely transforms the atmosphere of this Boyacá town. We explored Aquitania, continued on to the Tota Peninsula, and finally managed to sleep just a few meters from the water. Waking up facing Lake Tota, surrounded by nature, was simply an amazing experience.
