Hawaiian Peleleu War Catamaran and Polynesian Twin Hulled Canoes c.2000b.c.

This video shows the most unusual series of model ships I've been commissioned to build - Polynesian Twin Hulled Canoes or Catamaran's. A few years back I was commissioned to build a model of the earliest Polynesian cats used to discover the Hawaiian Islands. Sailing north from the Tahiti region, after two months at sea these intrepid twin hulled twin masted ships of sail landed on the shores of Hawaii c.2000b.c.e. Also shown in this video are the 'coastal' catamaran's as used by Hawaii's many island kings and ultimately the Peleleu canon armed War Catamaran's used by King Kamehameha to conquer all the Hawaiian Islands c.1790.
