Yatāmā Ghazza — The Orphans of Gaza | A Nasheed That Will Break Your Heart 🤲
يتامى غزة — Yatāmā Ghazza (The Orphans of Gaza) A nasheed for the children whose voices the world stopped hearing. ﷽ "Mama… are you sleeping? Wake up. The morning came… but you didn't." These were the first words I wrote. I wrote this nasheed for a child I will never meet — a small boy or girl in Gaza who woke up one morning and learned the meaning of words no child should ever know. I wrote it because I could not stay silent. I wrote it because they have names, and they had favorite colors, and they had mothers who sang them to sleep. They are not numbers. They are not statistics. They are children of the Ummah, and they are children of humanity. And whether you are Muslim or not, if you have a heart that still beats, this song is for you. Please listen until the end. Please share it. Please remember them in your prayers, your du'a, your donations, and your voice. May Allah accept this from us. May He gather every orphan in His mercy. May He reunite every child with their parents in the gardens that have no borders. 🤲 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎧 LISTEN ON ALL PLATFORMS https://linktr.ee/Soulful.ayahs 🤲 HOW YOU CAN HELP THE CHILDREN OF GAZA 🤲 HOW YOU CAN HELP THE CHILDREN OF GAZA 🔗 https://muslimhands.org.uk 🔗https://matwproject.org.uk 📜 LYRICS [Spoken intro — child's voice] "Mama… are you sleeping? Wake up. The morning came… but you didn't." [Verse 1] I held her hand beneath the stone, I called her name, she didn't answer. The sky kept falling, I was alone — just a small boy with no more questions. They tell me, ṣabran, ṣabran yā ṣaghīr — be patient, little one, be patient still. But how do small hands carry grief heavier than the houses on the hill? [Pre-Chorus] Ummī, ummī — where did you go? Abī, abī — I'm so cold below. The dust is on my eyelids, the stars don't shine the same… Yā Rabb, You see me — You know my name. [Chorus] Yatāmā, yatāmā — the orphans of the dawn, their fathers in the gardens, their mothers' lullabies gone. Yā Allah, hear the silence where the songs used to be, and gather every child who is calling out for me. Yatāmā Ghazza — they are not forgotten, the angels write their names where no missile ever falls. Yā Rabb, yā Karīm — wrap them in Your mercy, and answer every tear that down their small face crawls. [Verse 2] She used to braid my sister's hair, he used to lift me to the sky. Now I braid her hair myself, and tell my brother not to cry. [Bridge] If you can hear this, do not look away, they are not numbers — they had names, they had days. They had a favorite color, they had a song, they had a mother's voice that sang them along. Salma. Yusuf. Layan. Karim. Ahmad. Hala. Sara. Saleem. Asmā'uhum maktūbatun fī as-samā' — their names are written above where no one can erase. [Final Chorus] Yatāmā, yatāmā — the orphans of the dawn, they will rise as a kingdom when this long night is gone. Yā Allah, yā Allah — hold them in Your light, turn their every tear into a star that burns the night. [Outro — child's voice] "Mama… I'm still here. And one day… we'll have breakfast again." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 — A Child's Whisper 0:15 — Verse 1 0:50 — Pre-Chorus 1:05 — Chorus 1:35 — Verse 2 2:25 — Second Chorus 2:55 — The Names (Bridge) 3:25 — Final Chorus 3:55 — A Child's Hope ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💔 ABOUT THIS NASHEED Every line in this song was written through tears. The "names" section in the bridge — Salma, Yusuf, Layan, Karim, Ahmad, Hala, Sara, Saleem — represents thousands of real children whose names will never be spoken on the news. This nasheed is not about politics. It is about children. It is about the universal truth that every child deserves to wake up to their mother's voice. Every child deserves breakfast. Every child deserves a future. The Prophet ﷺ said: "I and the one who cares for an orphan will be like this in Paradise" — and he held up his two fingers together. May we be among them. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🤲 A REQUEST If this nasheed reached your heart in any way, please do three things: 1️⃣ Make du'a for the children of Gaza tonight. 2️⃣ Donate what you can to a verified humanitarian organization. 3️⃣ Share this video.
