Adam Martín shares his personal experience of emotional collapse after losing his job and his partner, and how, without realizing it, he began to build his mental safety net. Through five pillars—nutrition, exercise, sleep, relationships, and life purpose—he explains with rigor and empathy how to cultivate mental health. Adam Martín Skilton (Tossa de Mar, 1973) has been a journalist and writer for over 30 years. He specializes in health topics, particularly nutrition, physical activity, and mental health. He received the 2024 Ondas Award for his podcast on mental disorders, “Gent normal” (Normal People), and is responsible for the scripts and presentation of the podcasts “Cáncer 360” (Cancer 360), about cancer research at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), and “Sans i estalvis” (Health and Suspense), about nutrition, diet, and physical activity. He began his career in radio in 1992 and has directed and presented programs on Nova Ràdio Lloret, Ser Catalunya, Com Ràdio, Rac1, Catalunya Ràdio, Antena 3, BTV, and TV3. He also writes for Consumer magazine. He is the author of nine books, including three popular science books on nutrition and a novella, "The Open Water Swimmer," which has been adapted for the stage and nominated for six Max Awards.
