In Japan, July is the season of Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival. It’s a special time of year when people write down their wishes and look up at the night sky, hoping the stars will carry their dreams. There’s something so peaceful and romantic about that tradition. I hope we’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful sky filled with shining stars and a bright moon this year. What would you wish for if you could make a wish upon the stars? For this month’s performance, I’d like to share a beautiful piece that perfectly captures the spirit of this season. I truly love the atmosphere and emotion of this music. Every time I play it, I feel as if I’m quietly gazing up at the night sky, surrounded by a sense of peace and comfort.
