When I moved to China, I became friends with Mati, an Argentinian from Rosario with whom we shared the sociological study of Beijing nights. The civil wedding took place at the Capitolium of Toulouse (Toulouse City Hall), a majestic building worthy of the French aristocracy. The unofficial ceremony took place in the French countryside, a few kilometers from the city center. We approached it driving the bride's car, which had many topomobile-like characteristics (a mirror tied with wire, a sticking gear shift, and lots and lots of shine). The wedding was officiated by the speaker, taking advantage of the fact that both bride and groom do not profess any religion. Although I mixed in some elements of Jewish wisdom and tradition in my speech, I ended by marrying them under the memory of Diego Armando Maradona. The event was a reunion of friends who hadn't seen each other for several years, which you can see throughout the video.
