XPENG Car Production Guangzhou Plant in China

XPENG has reached a major milestone with the production of its one-millionth vehicle. Founded in 2014, the high-tech automotive brand celebrated the achievement at its Guangzhou plant in China, where the milestone vehicle rolled off the production line. The commemorative model was a silver XPENG X9 family van, which was officially handed over to its new owner—a young mother—during a festive ceremony. As a newly introduced model series, the XPENG X9 is also scheduled for homologation in European markets in the near future. Beyond electric vehicles, XPENG is active in the development of robots, aircraft, and advanced AI-based technologies, including proprietary chips and operating systems. The company currently operates three state-of-the-art production facilities in China, located in Zhaoqing, Wuhan, and Guangzhou. While it took several years to manufacture the first 500,000 vehicles, the second half-million were produced in just 14 months, underlining XPENG’s rapid growth and strengthening its position in global e-mobility. To meet rising international demand, XPENG continues to expand its production capacity. During the first ten months of the year, the company achieved strong growth both in China and internationally. XPENG consistently ranks among the top three pure electric vehicle brands and expects annual sales to exceed 400,000 units. The brand is already present in 60 countries and is steadily expanding its footprint across Europe. At the milestone celebration, company founder He Xiaopeng highlighted the importance of safety, quality, customer service, and a powerful operating system. XPENG combines advanced physics with artificial intelligence to deliver a wide range of innovative technologies, a philosophy reflected across its product lineup. The current portfolio includes the XPENG G6 SUV coupé and the flagship XPENG G9 SUV. Both models are built on an 800-volt architecture and, starting with the 2025 model year, will feature the industry’s first 5C LFP high-voltage battery. This battery technology eliminates the need for rare minerals while enabling ultra-fast charging. The G6 supports charging speeds of up to 451 kW, while the G9 reaches up to 525 kW, allowing both models to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just twelve minutes.
