How to see Western Australia's marine life in one day - AQWA : Aquarium of Western Australia.

A great educational day out for the kids which they will love is to take them to the Aquarium of Western Australia or better known as AQWA. Situated about 25 minutes north of the Perth CBD at the Hillarys Boat Harbour, AQWA displays a vast array of Western Australia's marine life, from the Great Southern, all the way up and around to the Kimberley Region. Western Australia is lucky enough to be one of the few places where a warm current runs along the western sea board. This results in a diverse array of marine life along our coast and the largest fringing reef systems in the world, the Ningaloo Reef. Western Australia is a vast state and AQWA is dedicated to displaying the diverse marine life the can be found here to make it easier for locals and tourist alike to see what kind of creatures call this part of the world home. AQWA is also home to a unique experience whereby you can board a conveyer belt which takes you along the sea floor of the ship wreck coast. Above the conveyer belt, a thick layer of Perspex keeps you separated from the water and sea creatures above, including sharks, sting rays, turtles and fish. There is also an opportunity for visitors to get hands on with some of the animals with a touch pool to explore.
